We recently got back from a trip to Italy! One of our stops there was the city of Milan, where the company behind Campari has their own bar, Camparino. The bar is located in the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, a historic shopping mall that’s worth visiting for the architecture alone. Gaspare Campari opened a cafe there in 1867; today’s Camparino is across the corridor from that location.
The two drinks we got there were the Negroni Sbagliato, which we’ve posted about before, and a simple cocktail called the Milano-Torino. This drink is named for the origins of its ingredients: Campari from Milan, sweet vermouth from Turin (Torino). It’s a good option if you’re looking for something lower in alcohol than the classic Negroni, but with extra rich body and flavor, not moderated with soda water (the Americano) or Prosecco (the Negroni Sbagliato).
