The Old Fashioned is a classic American cocktail dating back to the late 1800s. Its ingredients are similar to the Manhattan, but with the vermouth replaced by sugar and fruit, in this muddled version.
The bourbon. Maker’s Mark 46 is our go-to bourbon.
The cherries and syrup. We use Amarena Toschi black cherries in syrup, although it’s more traditional to use Maraschino cherries and sugar. When using sugar, superfine is best, since it dissolves very quickly.
