Recipe: Moscow Mule (serves one)
- 2 oz. vodka
- 1/2 oz. lime juice
- 4 oz. ginger beer
- lime wheel and cherry
Pour liquid ingredients into an ice-filled glass. Stir. Garnish with lime wheel and cherry.
The Moscow Mule is a popular cocktail these days, usually served in a copper mug. It’s delicious if you use the right ginger beer. For a tequila version, see our Mexican Mule recipe.
The vodka. We like Tito’s Handmade vodka.
The ginger beer. You’ll want to use a brand of ginger beer that fits your tastes. We like Fever Tree since it’s less sweet than many other brands, and has a delicious ginger aroma. Q Ginger Beer is also good, but has less aroma and more burn (it contains chili peppers). We also tried Bundaberg, but thought it was too sweet. BevMo sells Fever Tree and Q; we got Bundaberg at a Gelson’s grocery store.
