Young Buck

Recipe: Young Buck (serves one)

  • 3.5 oz. ginger beer
  • 2 oz. pineapple juice
  • 1.5 oz. fresh lemon juice
  • mint sprigs

Pour pineapple juice and lemon juice into an ice-filled glass and stir. Top with ginger beer and stir again. Garnish with mint sprigs.

We had the Young Buck at Bourbon and Branch on our last trip to San Francisco. This is our re-creation. It’s a grown-up non-alcoholic drink — very dry and refreshing. If you prefer your drinks sweeter, you can increase the percentage of pineapple juice.

This drink is a variation on the basic virgin mule.

The ginger beer. Fever Tree is our favorite ginger beer to use in cocktails. It’s dry and gingery.
