Recipe: Ferrari (serves one)
- 2 oz. dry vermouth
- 1 oz. amaretto
- lemon peel
Pour vermouth and amaretto into an ice-filled rocks glass. Stir. Garnish with lemon peel.
This vermouth-based cocktail is a good option if you’re looking for something on the lighter side. With no spirit to dominate the drink, the caramely almond flavor of the amaretto takes center stage.
We used Noilly Prat dry vermouth. Since vermouth has relatively low alcohol content, we keep it in the refrigerator to preserve its flavor — plus, that way it’s already cold when we mix it into a drink.
If you’re in the mood for a stronger amaretto cocktail, try the Godfather with Scotch or the French Connection with cognac.
