Recipe: Stratosphere (serves one)

  • 1/4 oz. Crème Yvette
  • sparkling wine
  • raspberry (for garnish)

Pour Crème Yvette into champagne flute. Top with sparkling wine. Put raspberry on rim of the glass.

Happy New Year! In the spirit of New Year’s celebration, here’s a drink made with sparkling wine. It gets a boost of color and complexity from Crème Yvette, which we also used in the Sleigh Ride cocktail.

As we mentioned in our Sleigh Ride post, Crème Yvette can be hard to come by. You can substitute crème de violette (we’ve heard the Giffard brand is good). Or go for crème de cassis, the blackcurrant liqueur, and you’ll have the famous Kir Royal.
