Final Ward

Recipe: Final Ward (serves one)

• 1/2 oz. rye
• 1/2 oz. green Chartreuse
• 1/2 oz. maraschino liqueur
• 1/2 oz. fresh lime juice
• lime twist

Shake liquid ingredients in cocktail shaker with ice. Strain into cocktail glass and garnish with lime twist.

This refreshing cocktail is the rye variant of the Last Word. When we saw it on a cocktail menu, we thought there was a typo, but it’s actually named after the creator, Phil Ward from New York City’s Death & Co. The version we had at our local bar (and recreated here) had lime juice and a lime twist. Phil Ward’s version swaps those out for lemon juice and maraschino cherries. Either way, it’s a delicious drink!
