Recipe: Little Italy (serves one)
- 2 oz. rye whiskey
- 3/4 oz. sweet vermouth
- 1/2 oz. Cynar
- maraschino cherry
Stir rye, sweet vermouth, and Cynar in a cocktail shaker with ice. Strain into cocktail glass and garnish with maraschino cherry.
We’ve been on a Cynar kick since making the Bitter Giuseppe. This recipe, a twist on the Manhattan, was created by Audrey Saunders at Pegu Club in New York City. It’s named after the NYC neighborhood, and combines American rye whiskey with Italian ingredients.
I sure hope you explored Americano. Fan favorite for light refreshments before dinner.

Yes! We like the Americano too. We blogged about it after our trip to Spain: https://mixedinla.com/2017/07/15/americano/
