- 16 oz. boiling water

We heard of brewed cacao only recently and decided to give it a try. It’s made in the same way as French press coffee, but that’s where the similarity ends. Brewed cacao contains very little caffeine, and has a body between that of tea and coffee. It’s not very similar to hot chocolate either: it’s less rich, since the brewing process doesn’t extract the fat in the beans. And it’s not sweetened at all.
We found brewed cacao to be very bitter on its own, so we like it with milk. We’ve been making it a couple times per week now that the days have gotten cooler.
