Recipe: Margarita (serves one)
- 1 1/2 oz. silver tequila
- 1 1/2 oz. fresh lime juice
- 1 oz. Cointreau
- Salt and lime wedge for rim
- Lime wheel for garnish
Rub rim of glass with lime wedge. Pour some salt onto a plate and rim the glass with it. Add ice to prepared glass. Shake liquid ingredients vigorously with ice in a cocktail shaker. Strain into glass, and garnish with lime wheel.
This is a classic margarita recipe, with a delicious blend of tequila, lime, and orange liqueur. If you prefer your margaritas sweeter, add 1 tablespoon super fine sugar. If you love margaritas, you should also check out the lesser known precursor, the sidecar.
For a lemon margarita, simply replace the lime juice with lemon juice.
The tequila. We like to use Camarena silver tequila.
