Recipe: Amaretto Sparkle (serves one)
- 1 tbsp (= 1/2 oz) amaretto
- Prosecco or other sparkling wine
Pour 1 tablespoon amaretto into champagne flute. Top with Prosecco. Stir gently.
After making the Ferrari, we decided to go bubbly by swapping out the vermouth for Prosecco. We found ourselves with this simple and delicious cocktail. After experimenting with various amounts of amaretto, we settled on 1 tablespoon, which imparts a nice almond aroma without making the drink too sweet. We also tried augmenting Prosecco with some other liqueurs, such as Bénédictine and falernum, but the results weren’t nearly as good.
We can see ourselves making the Amaretto Sparkle for brunch or for an evening party — it’s simultaneously light and desserty.
