When we were at the Walker Inn, the couple next to us told us about Lost Spirits Distillery, which they said was like Disneyland with spirits. With that recommendation, we had to go. Last weekend, we finally made our way to the arts district of Downtown LA and took the delightful tour. It combined yummy tastings and a chemistry discussion, all in a whimsical atmosphere.
We’ll omit the tour details so you can enjoy it for yourselves, but we took a very short boat ride to a mini-jungle, which led to a time machine that spun us in circles. We tasted delicious rum while our guide described how the multitude of flavors came from a muck pit (something you wouldn’t want in your back yard). And we drank scientifically-aged peated whiskey from a teacup.
