Recipe: Apricot Blossom (serves one)
- 1 oz. golden rum
- 1/2 oz. apricot brandy
- 1/2 oz. Cointreau or other orange liqueur
- 1 1/2 oz. chilled black tea (we used Tejava, but you can brew your own)
- 1/2 oz. fresh squeezed lemon juice
- sprinkles of cinnamon and nutmeg
- orange peel
- mint sprig
Fill cocktail shaker with ice, add liquid ingredients, and shake. Strain into coupe or martini glass. Sprinkle with cinnamon and nutmeg. Garnish with orange peel and mint sprig.
This spiced, light-bodied cocktail really got us in the mood for Thanksgiving. The recipe is based on Saveur’s with a few tweaks. We couldn’t find orange spiced tea, so we replaced the spiced tea and simple syrup with black tea, Cointreau, spices, and an orange twist. We also left out the muddled mint, but kept the sprig.
We hope this gets you in the Thanksgiving spirit! If you’re looking for another holiday drink, try our sparkling bourbon apple cider, mulled wine, or Cape Cod sunset punch — or the non-alcoholic cranberry sparkling cider.
